Webinar Apple/Outlook Google
Very often, aesthetic improvement is the primary driving force behind the initial dental attendance. Certainly most patients presented to our practice today would request their teeth (anterior and often posterior) to look more aesthetically pleasing. Most of the times we need to match to their existing dentition/restoration and sometimes we have to start from scratch. But what determines aesthetics and what is considered aesthetically pleasing can be a debatable question. Is aesthetics always subjective (i.e. beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder) or are there objective criteria that we could follow? This presentation aims to cover a wide range of important aspects of aesthetic treatment with view to improve patient satisfaction in the most predictable manner.
Topics covered include:
Aesthetic overview – What is aesthetics? What or who determines aesthetics?
Aesthetic treatment planning – How is this different to traditional treatment planning?
What are all our options for smile design? Is DSD always the best option?
What are the 14 objective criteria that determine dental aesthetics?
Teeth whitening – external vs. internal
How to improve composite shade selection? How to construct a customised composite shade guide?
How to carry out single layer vs. multi-layer anterior composites?
How to close diastema or increase incisal length predictably?
Is provisionalisation important in aesthetic dentistry?
Which ceramic should you use?
How much discolouration can all ceramic restorations mask?
How to improve photography (i.e. lab communication) using polarised lens and white balance cards?
What is the best polisher to use for composites and ceramics?
Presenters: Dr Ben Lee, Dr Johnson Chou & Dr Agnes Lai

Webinar Apple/Outlook Google
Within the aging population in our fast paced society, presence of the worn dentition is becoming more prevalent in our daily practice. The cause for tooth surface loss can be multifactorial and failure of previous dental management are often common. Hence accurate diagnosis of the root cause of tooth surface loss is critical to the longevity of our treatment. As full mouth rehabilitation often involve a large number of treatment considerations and can be successfully carried out with different methods, this presentation aims to discuss the various methods used and clinical tips on how to achieve a more predictable outcome. Topics covered includes:
Treatment planning with the end goal in mind.
Common methods used to carry out full arch rehabilitation, including injectable composite technique
What is Dahl concept and when to utilise this for the anterior worn dentition?
How to increase occlusal vertical dimension?
How to manage full mouth preparations and full mouth impressions?
What is the ideal occlusal scheme?
Presenters: Dr Ben Lee, Dr Johnson Chou & Dr Agnes Lai

In clinical practice, we are often presented with a compromised tooth which poses difficulty on deciding the best course of action, i.e. to save or not to save certain teeth. Saving such compromised tooth may result in premature failure with patient dissatisfaction while the extraction of such tooth may feel overly aggressive. This presentation will discuss various assessment criteria from prosthodontic, periodontic and endodontic perspectives.
3 dental specialists (Drs Ben Lee - prosthodontist, Garima Sharma - endodontist, Ehsan Mellati - periodontist) will each discuss this topic from the perspective of their discipline to highlight the key aspects of assessment and treatment planning to improve our decision making process. In addition, we will share how compromised dentition could be managed to improve their long-term prognosis.

Composite resin restorations are an integral part of most private practices often carried out on a daily basis. However the mastery of such material is difficult even for an experienced clinician. Achieving consistency in colour matching and obtaining good contact points are not always predictable. In addition, there are a variety of techniques and materials available. Three prosthodontists will be sharing their own methods to highlight this point.
