WHAT IS A PROSTHODONTIST?
A prosthodontist is a dental specialist who has completed an additional three years of full-time postgraduate training, registered through Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and recognised by the Dental Board of Australia. You can verify any clinician's specialist registration via AHPRA's website.
Prosthodontists are the experts in restoring and replacing teeth — with crowns, veneers, implants, bridges and dentures — and are the specialists other dentists turn to for complex cases.
HOW WE CAN HELP YOU
Patients commonly see us for: missing or failing teeth, broken or worn teeth, unattractive smiles, failed previous dental work, ineffective bite, jaw pain (TMD), dental trauma, gaps or spaces between teeth, and full-mouth rehabilitation.
Given our specialised training and clinical focus, we are the specialists most suitable for performing dental implant surgeries, including bone grafting and sinus lifts; dental implant crowns and bridges; cosmetic dentistry using veneers; complex restorations using crowns and bridges; and full mouth dental treatment.
If your situation is complex or you're unsure where to start, a prosthodontist is the right first call. We assess, plan and coordinate the full scope of your treatment.

DR. BEN LEE
BDS (Otago), MDSc (Pros) (Syd), FAANZP
Principal Prosthodontist

Ben started his dental career in 2002, after graduating from the University of Otago (New Zealand). Following his keen interest for cosmetic and implant dentistry, Ben pursued a Master's degree in prosthodontics and became a registered specialist in 2008. During this time, he was awarded the prestigious Young Prosthodontist Award by the renowned International College of Prosthodontists.
Ben has a strong interest in continuing education and enjoys sharing knowledge and experience with his peers. Since 2009, Ben has been a visiting honorary clinical lecturer at the University of Sydney. In addition, he is a mentor for dentists completing implant diplomas at the University of Sydney, University of Melbourne and the Charles Sturt University. Every year, Ben provides many presentations and workshops to dentists on a wide range of prosthodontic topics and is a frequent presenter for the Australian Dental Association and Nobel Biocare. His latest appearance and upcoming presentations can be found here.
Ben has extensive expertise in complex implant and bone grafting surgery, including cases involving significant bone loss. His advanced surgical skills mean he regularly accepts referrals for cases other practitioners consider too difficult — often opening a pathway to implant treatment that patients had been told wasn't possible for them.
Through his teaching and presentation experience, Ben is very articulate at explaining complicated issues and procedures. Patients find Ben very easy to understand even for the most complex situations. Ben is always calm and has a very gentle touch, helping to ease the anxiety of seeing a dentist.
Outside the practice, Ben enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, art, travelling, exploring and learning.
