  • Before

    After

Often for teeth with a history of trauma, they would have received root canal treatment and a crown. Due to the silver compounds contained in older generation root canal treatment sealers, the tooth/root colour has turned dark. With time as gum recession occurs, the darkened root becomes exposed. Our management of these cases often involves internal tooth bleaching first, to eliminate the dark root. Not only this improves the colour of the gum next to the root, but also it becomes more “recession proof”. When more gum recession occurs in the future, you will no longer see the dark root as it has been bleached already. We changed the crown in this case to achieve an ideal result because there was gap developed between the old crown and the tooth where bacteria is accumulating.

  • Before

    After

This patient suffered a fracture of her front tooth which has received root canal treatment and a crown in the past, resulting in little remaining tooth structure to work with. After a new foundation was built up, the remaining structure was refined with great care to allow our ceramist to construct a new porcelain crown to perfectly match to the patient’s neighbouring front tooth in all aspects including the internal white and yellow characteristics.

  • Before

    After

This patient suffered a broken tooth which previously had a large filling. Although there is very little remaining tooth structure, however as the quality of the remaining stump is excellent, at a restorative specialist level, this case has ample tooth structure for us to work with to achieve a good long-term outcome using a porcelain crown restoration with a gold inner supporting shell to provide optimal seal, stability and strength for this tooth.

  • Before

    After

This young patient has received root canal treatment and crown on her front tooth. Due to trauma, this front tooth fractured at the gum line resulting in minimal remaining root stump. The option of extraction with implant replacement was discussed, however this young patient was emotionally not ready to lose this tooth. She prefers to save this tooth for as long as possible. While there is little root stump above the gum line to be used, however as restorative specialists, we are able to work on the tooth structure under the gums and achieve a stable foundation to receive a new crown. Our ceramist has done an amazing job and copied the neighbouring tooth in all aspects achieving a perfect outcome for the patient.

  • Before

    After

This patient suffered a broken front tooth due to teeth clenching, a deep and heavy bite with previous tooth decay. • Before

    After

This patient has noticed crack lines forming on her front teeth. She is concerned that the cracks may worsen resulting in losing her teeth. • Before

    After

Due to a history of trauma a number of years ago, this patient’s upper front left central tooth broke which needed root canal treatment and a porcelain veneer.
